As a child in the season of winter, the sky was dark and lit with stars. I was inside my bedroom and out of nowhere I felt this deep call in my body and soul to go outside. I stopped what I was doing and followed this invitation outside where the energy was pulling me. I wandered into my neighbors back yard until the pull of energy stopped. I looked up to see a white owl greet me. I gazed at it, and it gazed at me. I was mesmerized by this encounter. It stayed with me, exchanging its energy with mine, until I got cold and decided to venture back into the house. To my surprise, this same encounter repeated again the following winter! 

 

How many of us have experiences like this as children? Where we felt the embrace of a tree, the love of a rainbow, the communication and connection between ourselves and others like the stars, mountains, coyotes, dragonflies or flowers? 

 

As adults we forget, we get amnesia. Our culture disconnects us from our innate sense of belonging to the community of all living beings of the world. Reconnecting to the Earth has enriched my life and I want to share this sweet remembrance and belonging with others, so you too can remember. 

 

The Earth is alive, expressive, communicative, loving, and mysterious. I desire to support those who have a longing, to rekindle relationships with these aspects of Her. I believe the Earth longs for us to relate to Her in a good way. 

 

Wild Sacred Utah is an invitation to connect with the land through recognition and respect, engaging with the four directions, according to the Northern Hemisphere, with an attuning practice. We will be sharing poetry and then you will be provided with an invitation to wander with prompts to engage with the natural world to see what arises during such encounters! We will end with a short council to share what’s from the heart. 

 

I invite you to be an active participant in the new story that is emerging.
